Allison Phillips (she/her) is a nomadic musician who puts her lived experiences into song. Born in the Chicagoland area but based now in Cincinnati, OH, she has backpacked a significant amount of Europe, South America, and lived in New Zealand for four years after college. Her music focuses on storytelling and being completely honest with yourself when you look in the mirror.
From having her guitar stolen in Italy to playing spontaneous shows in New York, she writes about what she learns and the people she’s met. Her debut EP, WHAT I NEED TO DO, is about a relationship with a narcissist. She used the concept piece to outline every stage of the narcissist cycle of abuse: bread crumbing, love bombing, discarding, and eventually moving on and following her dreams.
Allison knows music is her destiny and grew up with a very creative extended family. Often times, they would all pull out their instruments and sing covers of oldies rock songs or musical theatre (depending which house she was at) until the wee hours of the morning. She finds a lot of inspiration from the artists she grew up listening to, specifically Queen, Pat Benatar, the cast of Rent, Miley Cyrus, and Taylor Swift.
